Formula BMW USA San Jose Grand Prix in previous
As the Formula BMW USA joins the Champ Car World Series for two consecutive Grands Prix, the Grand Award San Jose will host the ninth and tenth rounds of the Championship Test 2007 Formula BMW USA July 17 to 19. Seventeen young drivers entered the race with a 1.5-mile Redback Raceway in turn seven. Reports indicate that give a great contrast to the rolling 4.0-mile circuit 15 turn Road America, where rounds 11 and 12 will be held August 9 to 12.
Part of the BMW Manufacturing Company parts 325A, the championship of Formula BMW USA approved half of the season at Lime Rock Park July 6 to 7. Round 8 marked the 50th Formula BMW USA race from the series began in 2004.
So far, three young men stood the test of the podium. They are also on the general point. Daniel Morad (Eurointernational) a winner of the race last year en route to the Rookie Championship, has won five more victories this year, becoming the winningest driver of Formula BMW USA race 77 points and a leader. Sophomore driver Sebastian Saavedra (Eurointernational), who had a victory to advance in the Round 7 at Lime Rock Park, was second in points of the whole. Rookie Esteban Gutierrez (Autotecnica) after two 17th place finishes at Lime Rock might have fallen five points behind Saavedra, but the young 15 continues to lead the Rookie class. Gutierrez has a record six consecutive posts in the series 1-6.
Behind of these three Maxime Pelletier (HBR Motorsport Team USA), Alexander Rossi (Team Apex Racing USA) and Steven Guerrero (HBR Motorsport Team USA) are fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
Graduates of the series will also continue to shine and move up the category of motorsport. The San Jose Grand Prix seems to be a meeting many graduates competing in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship. Take all of the message, Robert Wickens (2006 Formula BMW USA Champion) was the second opening round the season of Champ Car Atlantic Grand Prix Grand Las Vegas and won in just his fourth start in Portland.
